Stratford-Upon-Avon Maidenhead Aquatics Fish Store Review

Some of you may have realised by now that I am an avid fan of Tropheus and is mainly what I keep these days. Whilst I hear varying reviews and reputation feedback about Maidenhead Aquatics stores I still visit various stores when I get the opportunity. The Stratford-Upon-Avon store of Maidenhead Aquatics is on my list of places to visit if I am in the area.

Location is:

Stratford Garden Centre
Campden Road
Clifford Chambers
CV37 8LW

The main reason behind being such a fan of Maidenhead Aquatics in Stratford-Upon-Avon is their range of stock, not only do they normally have 4 or 5 or more different species of Tropheus in stock at any one time but they have many other different species that you rarely see in such large LFS chains. As well as carrying the “bread and butter” livestock such as tetras, guppies etc they do cater for all other more specialised areas of the hobby. The self confessed areas of focus and specialisation are:

  • African Riftlake
  • Cichlids
  • Unusual fresh water fish

On top of the excellent range they carry the pricing is amongst the lowest I have seen, certainly for African Cichlids it is and this follows on to all other types of livestock too. These high quality, low cost fish are all kept in 5 indoor systems, including a semi-soft water system, a livebearer system, a fancy goldfish system, a marine system and one further tropical water system.

Maidenhead Aquatics Stratford-Upon-Avon also carry a good range of hardware and stock of food and anything else you may require.

The staff are always very knowledgeable and helpful, they don’t come across as being rude or patronising in any way shape or form and it’s possible to have a good chat with them and they actually seem to care and take an interest in you and how you are getting on in the fish keeping hobby.

Overall I would highly recommend Maidenhead Aquatics Stratford-Upon-Avon to anyone who is passing or lives near there, not just if you are cichlid keeper but are in to fish keeping at all.
